Novelis Aluminum Can Recycling Contest

The Novelis Company is once again encouraging recycling with a contest for local groups to participate in.  The Howland Band families have participated in the past 6 years and we have earned thousands of dollars in grant money by just taking the extra step of recycling our aluminum beverage cans.  Grants will be awarded to the school or organization that recycles the most cans (by weight).
1st Place: $3000 grant
2nd Place: $2000 grant
3rd Place: $1000 grant
Participation lottery: $500 grant

Please take your aluminum beverage cans to any recycling  center and turn in your receipts to either a band director or Jeff Jornigan.  He is also willing to pick them up cans from your house. His contact info is... email: [email protected] or cell: 330-307-9452.

NEW THIS YEAR!

The Howland Band Boosters are sponsoring a recycling contest among the different grade levels in the band.  The grade level (9-12) with the most weight in recycled aluminum cans will win a PIZZA PARTY for their grade only at the conclusion of the contest.  Please take your aluminum beverage cans to any recycling center that will issue you a receipt.  Then, write your student’s name on the receipt and turn it in to a band director.  Your grade level must collect at least 50 pounds in recycling to qualify for the contest.

Receipts are due: Friday, March 27
Thank you for your participation and support of this project!
